Agreement

By installing and using Paperly, you agree to these Terms of Service. Paperly is operated by Presdin Works LLC. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the add-on.

What Paperly does

Paperly is a Google Docs Add-on that provides three tools: automated live formatting checks, AI-assisted rubric and criteria review, and plagiarism scanning against public academic databases. It is intended to assist with thesis preparation — not to replace your own judgement, your adviser's feedback, or your institution's academic integrity policies.

Credits

  • Live formatting checks are free and do not require credits.
  • AI Rubric Check and Plagiarism Scan each consume 1 credit per run.
  • Credits are purchased in advance and are non-refundable once used.
  • Credits never expire — unused credits remain in your account indefinitely.
  • If a check fails due to a server error on our end, the credit used will be refunded automatically.

Plagiarism check — important limitations

The plagiarism scan checks your document against publicly available academic databases (OpenAlex, CrossRef, arXiv), which together index over 250 million published works. You should be aware of the following limitations:

  • The scan does not check against unpublished student papers, institutional repositories, or proprietary databases such as Turnitin.
  • A clean result from Paperly does not guarantee that your institution's plagiarism detection tool will return the same result.
  • Paperly is a preparation tool. Always follow your institution's academic integrity policies.

AI-generated results

Results from the AI Rubric Check are generated by a language model and may be incomplete or incorrect. They are provided as guidance only. You are responsible for verifying that your work meets your adviser's and institution's requirements.

Acceptable use

You may not use Paperly to:

  • Process documents you do not have the right to access.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the service.
  • Use the service in any way that violates applicable law.

Limitation of liability

Paperly is provided "as is." Presdin Works LLC makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy of formatting checks, AI results, or plagiarism scores. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Presdin Works LLC is not liable for any damages arising from your use of the add-on.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Paperly after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
